Le temps, le temps

When time was my ally
I could see you come and go
Without a care in the world

Enjoying your journeys
From here to there
And back

When time was on my side
I could count minutes and seconds
And not be scared
Looking forward
To new itineraries
Lips here, fingers there
And back

When time was an adjustable variable
I would feel its reality
And still decide to dismiss it

Now, the settings are upset
One word here, a sentence there
I know you won’t be back
